  • Masters Swim includes swimmers of all levels and abilities. We have swimmers who just learned to swim in the past year, and we have swimmers who are locally and nationally ranked. Whatever your goals are, we can get you there.

As a general guidance, if you can swim four lengths of a 25-yard pool (100 yards) continuously, then you will be able keep up with our starting group. We are supportive of new swimmers and want to help you improve your strokes, fitness, and conditioning.

  • You are not alone—many of our Masters swimmers have said that they considered trying our swim workout for a long time before they got up the courage to attend our practice.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

    • EdgarMay Masters is a wonderful group of people.

    • We have swimmers ranging from 30 to 70 years old.

    • We welcome and encourage new swimmers!

    • Chances are very good that if you get over that initial fear and swim a workout with us, you’ll be happy you did.

    • Swimming is a great lifelong fitness activity.

    • And it’s both fun and motivating to do your workout with a group of like-minded adults!

  • The Short Answer: Competition is encouraged but not required!

Our Masters Swim will focus on several competitions each year, including local New England and National swim meets.

Workouts will be structured around these competitions, which means we will be dedicated to distance, pace, sprint work, and technique. These workouts will vary in the months before each competition to optimize conditioning.

For instance, summer workouts will tend to focus on preparing swimmers for longer open water and triathlon swims.

  • EdgarMay Members: $30/month
    Community: $70/month
    Drop-ins: $15/practice

New Masters swimmers will also receive a free 30-minute freestyle assessment with Coach Kristen. Equipment such as kickboards, pull buoys, paddles, etc. are provided.

**You do not have to be United States Masters Swimming (USMS) registered to join or drop in.
